Our Faith

What We Believe

Bethel Bible Church stands on the historic, orthodox Christian faith as revealed in the Holy Scriptures — the same faith delivered once for all to the saints.

The following Statement of Faith represents the core theological convictions of Bethel Bible Church. These doctrines are not merely institutional positions — they are the living beliefs that shape our worship, our community, our preaching, and our witness to the world. We hold them not with pride, but with reverence and gratitude toward the God who revealed Himself in the pages of Scripture and in the person of Jesus Christ.

God & the Holy Trinity

One God

We believe there is one God, who is infinitely perfect, existing eternally in three co-equal, co-eternal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. There is no other God; He alone is the Creator, Sustainer, and Ruler of all things.

Deut. 6:4 Matt. 5:48 Matt. 28:19

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died upon the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for sin, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will come again in glory.

Phil. 2:6–11 Luke 1:34–38 1 Pet. 3:18 Acts 2:23–24 Heb. 8:1 Matt. 26:64

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is God — the divine Third Person of the Trinity — sent to indwell, guide, teach, and empower the disciple of Jesus Christ, and to convict the world of sin, judgment, and the righteousness of God. He is active and present in the Church today.

The Authority of Scripture

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.”
— 2 Timothy 3:16

The Inerrant Word of God

We believe the Bible, consisting of all the books of the Old and New Testaments, is the Word of God — a supernaturally given revelation from God Himself, concerning Himself, His being, nature, character, will, and purposes; and concerning man, his nature, need, duty, and destiny.

The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are without error, defect, or misstatement of any kind in their moral and spiritual teaching and record of historical facts. They constitute the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice.

Humanity, Creation & Original Sin

Creation & Human Dignity

We believe God created all things according to His perfect, miraculous, and purposeful plan. God created the natural world and called it “good.” After He created male and female, He declared His creation “very good.” The man Adam was formed by God from the dust of the ground; the woman Eve was created from Adam’s side — both made in the image of God.

Gen. 1–2:25

The Fall & Original Sin

We believe the whole human race fell in the fall of the first Adam through disobedience, incurring both physical and spiritual death. All people are born with a sinful nature, morally and spiritually dead through their trespasses and sins — unable to see God’s design or enter His Kingdom apart from Jesus Christ.

Article IV

Salvation

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
— John 3:16

Salvation Through Christ

We believe salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all people. All those who receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and who confess Him as such before their fellow men, become children of God and receive eternal life.

John 3:16 Rom. 10:9 1 John 5:11–12 Rom. 8:17

Justification by Faith

We believe a person is justified on the ground of the shed blood of Jesus Christ and upon the condition of belief and professed faith in Jesus Christ as the one and only begotten Son of God. They are born again by the quickening, renewing, cleansing work of the Holy Spirit.

Rom. 5:9 Eph. 2:8–9 John 3:3–7

Eternal Life

Believers become heirs of God and joint heirs with Jesus Christ. At death, their spirits depart to be with Jesus Christ in conscious blessedness. At the Second Coming, their bodies will be raised and transformed into the image and likeness of Jesus Christ.

Rom. 8:17 1 Thess. 4:13–18

Discipleship & the Church

The Call to Discipleship

We believe that Jesus Christ’s call is to discipleship — specifically, learning how to love God with all one’s heart, soul, mind, and strength, and how to love one’s neighbor as themselves. A true disciple says yes to God’s initial call, and repeatedly surrenders their will, picking up their cross daily and following Jesus wherever He leads.

Matt. 22:37–38 Luke 9:23

The Body of Christ

We believe the Church consists of all those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood, and are born again of the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the Head of the Body, the Church, commissioned to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the gospel and making disciples of all nations.

Eph. 1:22–23 Matt. 28:19–20 Acts 2:41–47

Holiness & the Spirit-Filled Life

We believe it is the will of God that each disciple of Jesus Christ should be filled with the Holy Spirit and sanctified wholly, separated from sin and the world, and fully dedicated to the will of God — receiving divine power for holy living and effective service.

1 Thess. 5:23 Acts 1:8

Divine Healing

Healing in the Atonement

We believe provision is made in the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ for the healing of the mortal body. Prayer for the sick and anointing with oil are taught in the Scriptures and are privileges for the Church in this present age.

Matt. 8:16–17 James 5:13–16

Marriage, Human Life & Stewardship

Marriage

We believe God created marriage as a covenantal bond between one man and one woman, affirmed by Jesus Christ in the Scriptures. In this union God blessed a special spiritual, emotional, and sexual intimacy for joy, satisfaction, and procreation. Sexual intimacy is intended by God for this covenant alone.

Gen. 2:22, 24 Matt. 19:5–6

Human Dignity & the Sanctity of Life

We believe all human beings are created in the image of God with intrinsic dignity and importance, from conception to natural death. We uphold the value God has given to humanity — opposing the taking of innocent life, from abortion to euthanasia, and affirming the personhood of the medically and socially marginalized.

Gen. 1:28 Ps. 139:13–16 Jer. 1:5 Exod. 20:13

Stewardship of Creation

We believe our biblical calling to be good stewards of creation involves caring for our planet and cultivating a sense of awe at the sacred mystery of human life made in the image of God. God is glorified by the rich mosaic of human cultures and ethnicities, since all people equally reflect His image.

Gen. 1:28 Gen. 2:15 Ps. 24

The Last Things

The Second Coming

We believe the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is imminent and will be personal, visible, and premillennial. The time of His return is unknown, and disciples are to live constantly watchful and ready. This is the believer’s blessed hope and a vital incentive to holy living and faithful service.

Heb. 10:37 Luke 21:27 Tit. 2:11–14

Heaven, Hell & Eternal Judgment

We believe the unjust will be resurrected unto judgment. The devil, his angels, and all whose names are not found in the Lamb’s Book of Life will be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake of fire. The righteous will dwell forever in the presence of God.

John 5:28–29 Rev. 19:20 Rev. 20:10–15

The Millennial Kingdom

We believe the Holy Scriptures teach a millennial reign of Christ with His saints on earth following His literal, bodily return — the fulfillment of God’s purposes for creation and His covenant promises to His people.

Gen. 1:28 Ps. 8:4–8 Matt. 6:10 Heb. 2:6–9

The Devil

We believe there is a personal devil, a being of great cunning and power — the declared enemy of God and man, who wages war against disciples of Jesus Christ. He can exert power only so far as God allows, and will ultimately be cast into the lake of fire forever.

1 Pet. 5:8–9 Eph. 6:11–12 Rev. 20:1–6

The Two Ordinances

Bethel Bible Church observes the two ordinances commanded by Jesus Christ for the Church in every age.

Water Baptism

The ordinance of water baptism should be observed by all who have repented of their sins, believed in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and accepted His way of life. In doing so, they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and been raised to walk with Him in newness of life.

Matt. 28:19 Rom. 6:4
🍷

The Lord’s Supper

The Lord’s Supper, consisting of bread and the cup, is the symbol expressing our sharing in the life of Jesus Christ — a memorial to His suffering and death, and a proclamation of His second coming — enjoined to all believers “until He comes.”

Luke 22:19–20 1 Cor. 11:23–26

“Contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.”
